3 Months Old

Olivia is now 3 months old and she is getting bigger all the time! Today she fit into her first pair of shoes. She's growing up far too fast so Mommy made a short video to capture her beautiful smile. It can be seen here.

Sick baby girl

I called the doctors office once late last week and once about 2 days ago about Olivia spitting up/puking and they told me it was fine as long as she was wetting her diapers. Then last night she had just a little fever, about 99.5, but she was really fussy and not eating well and she started getting a cough. So we gave her some baby Tylenol and then the daycare called Daddy this morning and said that she threw up her whole bottle and has been coughing none stop. I called the doctors office and they were going to blow me off again because she doesn’t have a fever, but I told them no I want her seen because she was a preemie and had breathing issues, so Daddy took her in and it turns out she has a very bad right ear infection and her left ear is extremely congested and that is causing all the issues, even the goo she gets in her eye when she cries. Thank goodness her lungs are clear but they said for us to keep an eye on her breathing because the congestion can get down into her lungs. Daddy is going to stay home with her today and get her going on her medicine.

Hip Ultrasound

Yesterday Olivia went for a hip ultrasound. I guess it's something they do for all babies who were breech. Daddy took her to her appointment where she charmed the ultrasound technician. They had Daddy feed her while they did the ultrasound and she was still and cooperative while it was done, earning her a little rubber ducky. Happily her hips are fine, no dislocation! The ultrasound tech noticed how Olivia puts her hand/s on her bottle as if she wants to hold it and remarked that most babies her age don't do that yet. That's the second time we've been told that. I'm glad she is hitting her milestones in development. They told us at the hospital to expect her to do things a month later than full term babies, but she's been right on time!

Happy 4th of July!

This fourth of July morning Olivia was enjoying some tummy time, when right before her mommy's eyes she rolled over from her stomach to her back all by herself for the very first time!! Mommy was so proud and excited she hurried and snapped this picture right after the big event.
